ORGFTSW.KRZ contains an example of a way to use Foot Switch #1 to toggle an effect in & out. This particular example is a program named "Organ (Foot Sw)". It was created from the preset program called "Gospel Organ".
This example uses GFUN2 and GFUN4 to affect all 3 layers of the program. GFUN2 is set to the furction "Sample b on a", with Input a set to Foot Switch #1, the toggle control. Input b is set to the output of GFUN4. GFUN4═s function is set to "|a-b|", with Input a set to 1 and Input b set to GFUN2.
How it works: GFUN4 acts as a logical inversion of GFUN2's output. This inverse is then presented as the input to be latched by GFUN2 at the next positive transition of the Foot Switch. In effect, GFUN2 is always told to grab the opposite of its current output, whenever the Foot Switch is pressed. The output of GFUN2 can be routed to the PITCH page, or whatever effect you want to control.
Using the Foot Switch this way replaced use of the Mod Wheel, which was then made available for another use. I changed layer 3 to a different keymap and put its amplitude (F4 AMP) under the control of the Data Slider. Mod Wheel & Data Slider now act as 2 tone controls.
